That casting decision alone would have made this post-credits scene one for the ages – but what comes next is even worse, with Jameson playing a clip where Mysterio reveals exactly who Spider-Man really is, blaring “Peter Parker! The scene then cuts to Nick Fury sitting on a beautiful beach with his phone in hand hanging up on Talos. Fury then gets up and starts to walk away from the beach—which then begins to dissolve similarly to Mysterio’s illusions dissolving earlier in the film.
J. Jonah Jameson (played by J K Simmons, who also played The Daily Bugle Editor-In-Chief in all three Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies!!!) then flashes up on the screen, claiming Mysterio as the greatest superhero of all time. Spider-Man's true identity is then revealed in the video from Mysterio and Peter - and MJ - look on in horror. Peter and MJ eventually discover Mysterio’s plot, and Peter defeats the villain before sharing his first kiss with MJ.
Spider-Man: Far From Home has the most consequential post-credits scenes since Iron Man
This might not as Endgame-level as some thought, but if you’re of a certain age, it’s very, very cool. And, now is the perfect time to rewatch all the “old” Spider-Man movies with your kids. It’s not clear what Marvel’s next big universe-threatening threat is going to be as we move into the post-Thanos era. One common thought is Galactus, given that Disney now has the rights back to Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom and the big cosmic baddie, that will no doubt be integrated into the MCU in time. This is literally the first movie in this new age, and Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Second post-credits scene: Nick Fury is a Skrull?
In the extra scenes, Spider-Man and MJ are shown finishing up their webslinging through the city. Spider-Man drops off MJ, but before he fully breaks away a news bulletin catches the attention of everyone. The second post-credits scene features Maria Hill and Nick Fury as they leave the scene of Mysterio's major disaster--or, well, sort of at least. It turns out that the Maria and Fury we've been with for this movie aren't actually Maria and Fury at all--they're Skrulls . We have no idea just yet exactly what the Skrulls are doing back on Earth, but if Fury's reference to the Kree is correct, their old enemies are also hanging around our neck of the cosmic woods.
Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons, reprising his fan-favorite role from the Sam Raimi trilogy) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jameson has the video Mysterio doctored to make it look like Spider-Man was behind the London attack, and he has no qualms about showing it. He also has no qualms about letting the world know that Spider-Man is Peter Parker, outing the teenager to the world. In the second solo outing for Tom Holland's version of Spider-Man, Peter Parker is still mourning the death of Iron Man and hoping to catch a break from the superhero life by taking a school trip to Europe. However, it isn't long before he's recruited by Nick Fury, who is working with a new superhero called Mysterio to stop a group of supervillains called the Elementals.

As for Marvel itself, Kevin Feige and Co. will share details about the future of the MCU after the Far From Home premiere. By that time, we’ll have an even better idea of what to expect from the next phase, at least judging by some of these Far From Home reactions. Given that the film plays around with the idea that Peter's Spider-Man will become Tony Stark's successor, the huge plot twist is a dark play on the end of Iron Man, when Tony revealed his superhero identity to the world. Of course, this one wasn't done voluntarily but it certainly sets up a lot of potential avenues for the next Spider-Man film to explore. The scene cuts straight back into Spider-Man and MJ on their “date”.

And then, just to really nail that coffin lid shut, he revealed Peter's secret identity and sent the whole package to the Daily Bugle for broadcast. There are two must-watch end-credits scenes that will have fans talking long after the movie is over.

Spoilers are obviously coming, so if you haven't seen the film we'd advise checking out of this article sharply... Marvel hasn’t told us what comes after Far From Home, but we know filming for Black Widow has already started. Moreover, an insider provided several details about other MCU productions, so we have a general idea of what to expect from Marvel in the coming years.
It seems that since then Fury has aligned with the Skrulls for some greater purpose, perhaps in response to Thanos’ intergalactic attack. Presumably Talos has been impersonating Nick Fury just during the events of this film and not before — though we can’t be certain. We then see Nick Fury taking the call on what looks to be a beach. But Fury is not on a well-deserved vacation — he’s just relaxing in a simulator on a massive space station. Whatever Fury is planning for the next phase of the Avengers, it will take place in space.
Bucky will be busy running around with Sam Wilson on their Disney+ mini-series. It turns out that Fury has actually been off-world this whole time with a full-on Skrull army based out of a space station, and he sent Talos to fill in for him while he caught up on a bit of a vacation. Hopefully, we'll only have to wait for San Diego Comic-Con in a few short weeks to potentially hear more about the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
The sheer magnitude of Far From Home’s first after credits moment, which brings J.K. Simmons back as an Alex Jones-like iteration of Daily Bugle (dot net!) newsman J. Jonah Jameson, is so giddy in delivering a fan service moment that the magnitude of what actually happens might get a little lost.
If you haven't seen "Captain Marvel," you may have been surprised by the reveal of the shapeshifters. Soren and Talos are two friendly skrulls who were first introduced in the March 2019 movie. Fury gets up and stretches to reveal that he's not really on a beach.
